Salary

Between R320k & R410k

Key Purpose

To identify Strategic Sourcing opportunities within the commodity managed for the entire company. 

-To develop and implement strategies for the attainment of identified opportunities and to ensure the achievement of the total lowest cost of ownership for the relevant commodities for the entire company.

To lead  a cross-functional team to achieve lowest total cost ownership (TCO),while improving service and quality for the purchased commodities throughout Engen.To enhance value to the corporate bottom line, through assessing, managing and reduction of the total cost of ownership. Concludes and manages procurement contracts ensuring that SLA’s both internally and externally are met and monitors supplier performance.

   

Key Responsibilities

- Identification, development and implementation of Strategic Sourcing initiatives within the Company

-Optimal Reduction of Total Cost of Ownership

-Leveraging economies of scale and skills requirements for the Company

-Business framework per commodity provided

-Governance framework for each commodity strategy

-Business framework for enterprise wide strategic sourcing

-Total cost of Ownership (TCO) reduced

-Reliable source of supply

-Contracts concluded

-Efficient contract execution including monitoring and evaluation reports against contract SLA,corrective action and continuous improvement plans

   

Specific Outcomes

-Develops ,implements  and manages commodity strategy enterprise wide

-Collaborates with suppliers to ensure benefits realisation

-Manages  end-to-end contract responsibility

-Initiates  and drives implementation of Total Cost of ownership improvement initiatives across business

-Sets collaborative commodity cluster Total Cost of Ownership reduction targets

-Evaluates supplier’s business (commercial,technical,etc) capability

-Develops relevant indices models for commodities

-Measures and reports on actual  TCO/Life Cycle Cost (LCC) realisation

-Monitors spend base and recommends corrective action where required

-Ensures that procurement strategy delivers against corporate strategy

-Designs and implements a tracking and reporting procedure

-Develops/incorporates international sourcing strategies

-Monitors and assesses category based spend portfolio

-Develops, implements and monitors procurement performance indicators

-Tracks and monitors Key Performance Indicators of materials, services and supplier’s technical performance

   

Knowledge Skills and Attributes

-Knowledge of local and international vendor base

-Knowledge of deal structuring

-In-depth knowledge of Strategic Sourcing policies and procedures

-In depth knowledge of oil industry supply chain

-Knowledge of understanding of pricing mechanisms

-In depth knowledge of risk and value analysis on material and equipment

-In depth knowledge of contract related risk management

-In depth knowledge of Management of the full cycle cost

-Supplier Management

-In depth knowledge of risk management techniques and contingency planning

-Knowledge of HSEQ policies and procedures

-Knowledge of benchmarking practices

   

Qualification and Experience

-Minimum of 8 years working experience in Supplier Management
-Bachelor Degree
